What is a professional organizer?

A Professional Organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and through transferring organizing skills. A Professional Organizer brings a non-judgmental eye to the project and most importantly teaches you systems that you can maintain throughout time. A Professional Organizer also educates the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits.

What is NAPO?

NAPO is the National Association of Professional Organizers. It is the premier national association dedicated to the field of organizing and devoted to helping bring order and efficiency to individuals and businesses. NAPO is committed to promoting the professional organizing industry to the public as well as educating those interested in becoming professional organizers. Why is it important that I hire a professional organizer who is a NAPO member?

NAPO members adhere to the NAPO code of Ethics which act as principles to provide guidelines to Professional Organizers as we work with clients, colleagues, and the community. The code of ethics promises that Professional Organizers will exercise judgment, self-restraint, confidentiality and integrity for both clients and fellow organizers. I'm embarrassed to let a professional organizer in my home.

Don't be! This is what we do for a living and we are here to help. Beyond Organized provides complete confidentiality and non-judgmental assistance. With our support, you won't have to close bedroom doors and stuff closets full of junk when guests come over any longer. After we're done, you will want to invite house guests over.

Do I have to work directly with the Professional Organizer or can I leave and come back when the organization is complete?

We prefer to work directly with our clients so we can setup a preferred organizational system based on how you think, live, and work. Remember, one size doesn't fit all - everything we organize is completely tailored to you. It is important for a professional organizer to understand what goals you want to achieve, how you want to spend your time and what habits are distracting you from getting organized. That being said, it is more favorable that we work together during most organizing sessions.

How long will it take to get organized?

Organization is a process, not a state we achieve in one day. Every project is unique and the length varies. It depends on the complexity of the project, the size of the space, your schedule, your ability to make decisions and your motivation. After the organizing system is initially set-up, you will continuously maintain it and work on it, one day at a time. The good news is that once you learn good systems, habits, and tools organizing becomes second nature.
